It never fails to impress

The Park Hyatt
The Park Hyatt

If visiting Sydney, especially from outside of Australia, you want to see a giant coat hanger, a pointy Danish designed house, green and yellow ferries darting between one another on their way to or from Circular Quay. The best place to do that is on a private balcony at The Park Hyatt. Nestled on the edge of Circular Quay, the Park Hyatt Sydney offers a flawless blend of modern elegance and breathtaking vistas of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, making it a dream destination for both leisure and business travellers. We had a 3 night stay and could find very little to fault but a great deal to praise.

The hotel's design is pure understated luxury. Natural materials like sandstone, marble, and timber create an atmosphere of sophistication and large windows throughout the hotel flood the space with natural light, seamlessly connecting us with the surrounding harbour.

Our suite, featuring sleek décor, plush bedding, and expansive windows that offer striking views of the harbour and city skyline, was superb. Every detail managed, every surface OCD clean and every amenity well thought out. For the ultimate indulgence, the Opera House Suite provides an unparalleled view of the iconic structure, making it the epitome of luxury. Sadly we were not of the immense wealth to indulge. We were upgraded and offered the use of the Butler service which made our stay even more luxurious. We had several butlers during the stay and each of them was supremely professional, helpful and perfect for the little things we didn't realise we needed. They also worked out our love for fresh fruit very quickly and every time e returned to our room, we had fresh fruit. These touches are the things that make hotels stand apart.

Food and drink at the Park Hyatt Sydney is equally as impressive as the rest of the hotel. The Dining Room offers contemporary Australian cuisine with a focus on fresh, local ingredients. With yet more massive windows framing the Opera House, every meal becomes an immersive experience. The hotel also boasts a chic lounge and a relaxing terrace wher ewe enjoyed an afternoon tea and at least 3 too many cocktails one evening, all because of the view at sunset. We enjoyed a magnificent buffet breakfast each morning, and mostly dined out in the evening (excepting said evening with the cocktails. Thank heavens for room service!).

Bose speakers in the rooms, morning papers, Nespresso station and a Bose digital music system are all standard. Whether you're lounging by the rooftop pool, indulging in a luxurious spa treatment, a well equipped in house gym (we worked off all that breaky), or simply soaking in the views, this hotel redefines luxury in Sydney. For those seeking a top-tier Sydney experience, the Park Hyatt stands as the gold standard.

Could we have found a cheaper 5 star hotel in the Sydney CBD? Yep. Could we have had a similar experience elsewhere? Also yep. But you stay here for the views, and the location. With impeccable service, world-class amenities, and a dream location, the Park Hyatt Sydney provided us an unforgettable stay.

The Park Hyatt is at 7 Hickson Rd, The Rocks NSW

Rooms start from $1000 per night.
